Do you have a large circle of friends and family to whom you give gifts? If so, you know how irritating it is to have to run out to the store at the last moment to select gift wrapping materials. One way to save money and time is to stock up on wrapping essentials. This way you are always able to wrap your gift from your home supply of beautiful papers, bags, ribbons and bows.
Gift bags are an easy way to wrap small or medium-sized gifts quickly. Buy bags when they are on sale. Choose bag colors that will fit for every occasion. For example, red bags work for Valentine’s Day, Christmas presents and birthday gifts.
Stock up on colored tissue paper. You can wrap your gift in tissue paper, or you can use the tissue paper to stuff your decorative bags. Look for sales on stick-on bows, and when you find a good buy be sure to purchase two or three bags of bows to have on hand.
You can also buy ribbon wholesale. Spools of high-quality ribbon are sold everywhere from online auctions to local paper goods stores. Choose ribbon colors that you can use on many types of wrapping paper. White, blue and yellow are ribbon colors that go nicely with a variety of patterned and solid wrapping papers.
When you see a sale at your local card store, it’s time to purchase greeting cards. It’s very convenient to sift through your supply of cards and find one that you can tuck inside your gift. Greeting card stores often have great sales on rolls of wrapping paper. Buy holiday gift wrap after the holiday for the best price. Don’t forget cellophane tape. Keep a few extra tape rolls with your wrapping essentials and gift wrapping becomes easy.
